What Is Air Purifying Activated Carbon?
Air-cleaning active carbon is a specially chosen and engineered type of active carbon for removal of gases, odours, VOCs (VOC) and poisonous chemicals from the atmosphere in the room or in industry. Instead of using a mechanical filter to trap particles, active carbon cleanses the air by adsorption – a process in which gas phase pollutant molecules are drawn into and retained within the carbon’s vast internal pore network by van der Waals forces and surface chemical interactions.
Air cleaning applications cover a wide variety of environmental and pollution problems. In the home and business environment, ACCF is used to deal with the removal of formaldehyde from furniture and construction materials, the smell of cooking oil, the smell of cigarettes, the smell of pets, and the VOC emitted by the paint, the glue and the detergent.
